bad weather

Sitting in my chair watching the Lions and the steelers, waiting for the storm to show its ugly face. Prayers for everyone in the Washington, Illinois area as they start the clean up froma tornado. Can't ever remember this kind of weather this last into November.

Been checking the DTN every now and then. Just heard some thunder. Not looking forward to more wind and rain. Not really looking forward to what it's supposed to turn in to tomorrow either though.
 
Wx people on WOOD TV in Grand Rapids are making no bones about the weather coming across the lake in the next few minutes to a couple hours. Saying rain up to 8 inches per hour (won;t last that long) and winds up to 60mph. Also hinting that tornadoes are possible. Unofficial gust clocked at 78mph in Grand Haven. Maps they're showing are headed right this way. 50mph near Muskegon. We may have an interesting time here soon - 'bout an hour. If I don't check in for a while....
 
I've battened down the hatches around here - closed up everything, put about everything away that I can, and took in a stock of gas for the generators. Don't like to use generators, but with grand kids living with us, animals, and need for refrigeration, I got little choice.
If we loose power, we won't be very high on the priority list for restoration.
 
Looks like the worst has passed. The dish came back on. Everything's still standing,still have power.
 
Here in nw Ohio it just went through a bit ago. Still no power as I type this on my phone. Wind blew and got heavy rain.
 
Wind blew hard about 1:00 this afternoon power went off. Came back on about 5:00. SE Il. Just 10 miles NE of us a few houses were damaged. We were lucky! Did start the generator, didn't really need it, just wanted to know if it would run and make power.
 
Ya I just found out that a friend about two and a half miles away lost a barn,corn crib and part of the roof of his house. It didn't seem to be that bad here.
