OT Change in weather

I got home from Texas yesterday, it was 45 with a nice south wind. It is now down to 19 with heavy Northwest wind and projected to get -20.

Burr.....
 
Ya,we had 45 yesterday here in Michigan. Cold front is on its way with cold weather and high winds. Yippie.
Took the ice off the trees and fences anyway. Fun while it lasted.
 
Went to a wedding in Ord, NE yesterday. The wedding was at 3pm, and when we went into the Legion Club at about 4:30 for the reception the temp was around 50. Left the reception at 8:30 and the temp was 12. Came out of the Airport Inn motel this morning and it was 3 above.

As an aside, the bed in that motel was about the worst I've ever run into. Cheap and worn out. My wife managed to cope with it, but I couldn't. I took the bedspread, made a pallet on the floor, and slept on the floor. Heck of a lot more comfortable than the bed when I tried it.
 
Been fairly lucky in my neck of the woods. 65 degrees on Sunday, down to 20s on Monday. So far, no zero or below here in SE PA.

BTW, I give NO credibility to windchill numbers. IMHO windchill is just to dramatize the fact that it is COLD!!! When you get down to -10, it is just plain bitter cold. -10 feels about the same as -30 in my experience. Windchill will not freeze water. If the temperature is above 32F, no amount of wind or embellishment will make the water freeze. Under 32F and water freezes regardless of wind factors. Weatherguessers need to dramatize things for better ratings. Then there is the "misery index" for the hotter weather in the summer. Just theater.
