there sure are a lot of young and middle aged people carrying around those little TVs with dirty screens..

I know the screens are dirty because they are trying to clean them by rubbing them with their thumbs!!!
 
They're spelling and conveying thoughts, only it's not the way we learned it. I was thinking about that the other day and actually their way is simpler than the way we were taught. We have multiple and sometimes confusing ways to spell one word, like there, their, bale, bail plus many more. Why not simplify things?

I pride myself in being able to spell the way I was taught in school back in the day, and I will never change, but maybe a simpler way of spelling isn't all that bad for future generations. With our multi-national communications today will every nation be speaking the same language some day? I know it won't be the American English as we know it today. Jim
 
They are pretty keen. Today in Sunday school I put in the Bible verse and it displayed it, plus a commentary. Just like a big computer. No fun at the coffee shop, can't get by with tall tales at all, somebody always googling it. LOL

I think that conveying thoughts could get difficult if you used just one spelling for a word that could have multiple meanings, and you want it to mean a certain one of them.
