Got a notice, my 18v grease gun is in the mail, finally.

Lowes sent me an email ad, their tools are on sale too. No guns. It seems like dewalt is getting rid of the 18v models, going to the 20v lithum.

I have no plans to switch to 20v, but it looks like 18v days may be numbered. Same was true about grease guns. I could have bought a 20v model, but I would have had to buy everything, battery, charger and gun.

Anyone have specs on the 20v battery. I haven't read anything about the ma-hr ratings.

They have been in our bomgars store around a month or so, we have all dewalt power tools but grease gun which is a Lincoln, which the Lincoln holds up very well, maybe the next one will be dewalt so it matches in,

I have found that the cordless grease guns have ruined as many bearing as they have saved. The reason is guys blow the seals out with too much grease. Plus there is no feed back for how much force your putting on the bearing/fitting.

So I only use them on things that need to have loads of grease and do not have any seals to cause issues.

As for the Dewalt guns. I hope they work out well for you. I have had the best luck with the better Lincoln guns. The other brands do not seem to last very long.

I don't like the electric grease guns either. No feeling or control with them. I have a couple of the old USA made Lincoln lever guns. Been using them for years. First time my father-in-law came to visit he wanted to run to town and buy me a electric grease gun. I told him I would not use it and to save his money. He could hardly believe it as his nephews who he farms with will not touch a manual grease gun. They won't drive a tractor without auto steer either LOL.

The one place I love an electric gun is excavator boom . The joints take a lot of grease and electric makes it easy. We have gone to nothing but Linclon they seem to last.

There aren't any rubber seals on the backhoe to worry about. Let you know how dewalt works out. I can't see having two different models of cordless tools because batteries are the weak like in all cordless tools. I've been using 18v dewalt tools for 15 years. That way I only have to buy a tool minus the battery/charger. I have about every dewalt cordless tool made. It would cost a pant load if I decided to replace all them with a different brand.

I bought a drill/driver set with the 20v because they gave you three batteries with them. After two days use I returned them and bought a Makita set.
With three batteries I could not charge them as fast as I was I was using them.
I hope they have fixed their problems but fifteen min on a battery is not enough.

I wondered how the small 20v battery could store very much of a punch.

A few years ago, I bought 2 dewalt 18v li-ion batteries. Upside is they are light weight. Down side is it took 2 batteries to equal one Ni-Mh.

Did your Makita set come with the small batteries?

IT seems like many are going to the small battery.
