If you choose, check out Washington, Illinois on Google Earth.
Apparently their satelite imagery was taken on the day after the November 17, 2013 tornado.
Zooming in allows you to see the extent of damage experienced.

Jim from central Illinois

I had seen a lot of damage from that storm on I think it was I55 when I went through there the saturday before Thanksgiving.

I went to collage in Eureka, Ill. 1966 to 1970. I attended the Lutheran Church in Washington during that time. There was a nice restaurant on Rt 24. That was a nice town with a lot of very nice people. It is so sad they had so much damage. Did anyone ever trough 'Salvo Tablets' in that fountain in there square? No, I did not; but, some did. Ed

Wow! Those spirals in the field leave no doubt it was a twister. There is a farm a couple miles northeast of town that is a complete loss and if you zoom in you can see the debris in the fields. Thanks for alerting us to it. Jim

Thankfully I was in Lafayette IN at the time the tornado hit Washington. It was about a week later coming into Peoria on 24 when I first seen the true scale of the damage.
