I went out and started the 8n today ran it for a few minutes then checked the dipstick after repulling it the oil looked grayish with white at the top of the level on the dipstick pulled the dipstick a few hours later and the oil looked fine kinda confused any ideas? also the choke needs to be partially out for it to run I need to clean the carb but the father we push the choke In the less white smoke comes out. Not really sure whats going on any help is appreciated

The milky look is water in the oil. Could be just condensation.
Especially if you only run it short periods and don't get it up to temp.
The engine and oil have to get good and hot to get rid of it.
Is your coolant level going down at all?

The radiator fluid is staying the same level. But should I run it
for awhile get it up to temp? And also would that be what's
causing the white smoke out of the oil fill tube?

The white blow-by out of the fill tube could be moisture also.
If you have good oil in it and good oil pressure I would run it.
At least long enough to get it good and warm to see if it clears.
If you have antifreeze in the radiator and it's getting into the oil
that's a different problem.
I think the choke is a different problem too, but when you say
"the father we push the choke In the less white smoke comes out"
are you talking out of the breather tube or the exhaust?

I need to change the oil its OK but its old and the farther the
choke is in the less white smoke comes out both muffler and
oil fill tube. The smoke is not sweet smelling either

Has this tractor been setting a while?
If it was a daily use tractor and just started this, my opinion would
be different, but if it has been setting I'd clean the carb and give it
a whirl. Keeping an eye on all the fluids of course.

I guess you are going to keep asking the same question until you get an answer you want to hear. So here goes: There is nothing wrong with it. Just run the snot out of it.
