Update 25 pound LP Tank Valve

I got the valve removed. Held down on bench with web strap and started with 1 1/4 open end then a pipe wrench then a hammer then back to the pipe wrench and finished with the open end.

Good deal.

By chance do you know what the thread pitch is going into the tank. I have a few tanks around that I want to re-use for air tanks.

yes, it is normal 3/4" pipe thread. we watched a utube on it, the guy used a big chisel and small sledge hammer. we used a regular sledge hammer and just started banging the ba-jesus out of it. we had cut the top handle ring part off cause we didn't need it any more which made it easier to swing at it.

If for an air tank its best to leave the valve intact and get an old bbq regulator and unscrew the part that goes into the valve. may have to drill the center out. pipe fittings from there.
