Opinions on white 4-210...

Always wanted a white articulated, a 4-210 came up for sale nearby for around $9k. Looks nice, good main tires, ok duals, 3pt and pto work. Can you help me with what all to look for? Pivot? Engine supposedly has 1600 hours, with tractor in the 6-7,000 hour range. Thanks for the help.

For that price if the motor runs good, and with pto and 3pt it should be worth that with descent tires as you say, pretty sure you can still get center pins and bushings, and think some John Deere 4wds are the same, only other thing I'd check is over/under make sure it works and doesn't slip, I've seen some for sale that say they slip and then there not worth much, don't know how much that'd be to fix if it was bad. Should be a good tractor my dad used to own one.

IIRC a neighbor with the 4-185 said the 210 was built much heavier. His had the Cat 3208 which didn"t stand up well.

BIL has 2 of them. His are the 185 Don't know what the difference is. He just loves them. Runs a lot of land but has a Cat for heavy tillage. Uses the 185s for planting, side dressing, grain cart. He says the 3208 won't stand up to full load all day every day but works real nice for lighter jobs. You Cat engine guys can chime in here but isn't there something with them 3208s that you have to do every 3000 hours? Bearings? Weather they need them or not?
