Here's the pic of the needles after UPS dropped them off. Next time I'm in town, I'll talk to the UPS people. Don't know how they could have broke them. Must have gorillas working there!

I'm convinced UPS can break an anvil.....and when they do, they'll blame the shipper for improper packaging.

Damned idiots anyway!!

Geez, really sucks that I was trying to be nice and get a nice guy a good part, but I guess that just ain't going to happen!!

Mom and I are going to town tomorrow, and WE are going to stop at the local UPS store, and all 6'5 of me is going to be ------!!!! I suspect that they will say "Ohhhh, it was improperly packed".... Oh well, I guess $20 is no reason to get too upset...

Sorry again for you not being able to get your baler running!!

Bryce

NOTE: Just a little side note to anyone that might need something else off of my baler, COME AND GET IT!! hehehe ;)

I remember shipping something once and I was asked if it could withstand a 4 foot drop...I thought are you planning on doing that??

(quoted from post at 19:10:32 05/05/14) We had a pair that looked almost exactly like that when the baler got out of time, the plunger sheared them right off.

I've got a pair that look just like that too....looks like that is where the weak spot is  :(

And the sad part is they will not pay for the damaged parts. If I on the other hand damage your tractor hauling it I have to cover the cost whether by insurance or out of pocket.

I think someone is trying to pull your leg. I've straightened needles in a press and haven't broke them. I've got a set like that from the baler jumped it's timing, except mine are green!

I have seen needles like that before. Baler jumped time. I also have seen them welded back together and work. I guess the trick is to only weld a little on each side and flip then weld a little.

I want to see the break. From the angle of the picture, it looks like there is rust on the break.

Steve< I will look thru my extra baler parts, I bought a pileof needles from a guy a few years back, may be a couple sets for you there

while your waiting on another set, it might be interesting to try fixing these, v the break, and me, id use a mig welder and build up the v a little at a time, dont get the needles hot, take your time, might work as a spare set if you need them to

I've seen them welded and work ok.
If you ever worked in the freight bussiness you could understand how those needles got broke.

I hope you aren't saying I broke them!! I don't work that way. Should have made driver stay till I opened the box, wasn't out the drive and I saw they were broke. Couldn't believe they could break cast iron, but they did.

I wasn't saying you broke them. I thought maybe you were fooling on Bryce and put a picture up of your old needles, but I guess not. I'd be super soured if they broke my stuff like that. For real I was just kidding around, but I don't think I could break those if I tried.
