3010 runs for a few seconds

My 3010 starts fine runs a few seconds and dies. I have replaced the filters, cleaned the lines and had the injector pump rebuilt and still have the same problem although it seems to die quicker now. I noticed if I crack the return line it stays running, what does this mean?

No expert here, but I would think the plastic governor disk in the pump is bad and plugging return line.

Yup, clogged return line.. just remove it, remove the tank fuel cap and blow back thru the line w/ air compressor.. reinstall line and you should be good to go.. wait till she's running to put cap back on the tank.. if it stops after putting cap on, your vent in the cap is clogged.

I'd disconnect the return line at every injector and check for debris. If a plugged return line is shutting it down - it must already be getting 10-20 PSI. Might be a chunk of pellathane plastic stuck in there from a prior pump failure. Every banjo-bolt or right-angle fitting is a common place for debris to get stuck. The injection pump normally has around 4-6 PSI internally that feeds the return circuit. Once something plugs and it rises above 10-20 PSI - it negates needed incoming fuel and shuts down.

(quoted from post at 07:37:14 05/14/14) Clean or replace the return check valve. That's where it's gonna plug, not the line(s).

Sorry but the return lines/fittings other than the fitting that screws into inj pump have been known to plug.

The thing I assume you're calling a "check valve" is a "housing pressure regulator." He said the pump was recently rebuilt so if it even has the regulator (some have vent wires instead) - it was likely already taken care of at the pump shop. I have seen many tractors plug return lines after a pump failure. Especially those with rubber return
tees or banjo bolts at the injector tops.
