Field work might start tomorrow

Looks like we'll be working our first field this year tomorrow. Got one sandy field that we should be able to chisel plow tomorrow for oats. Fields are finally drying out, of course more rain predicted for monday.

I'd thought about chisel plowing some tomorrow, but it's a little slick yet. I'll see what the weather looks like Monday afternoon when I get back from the stockyard. They'd been saying rain for Wednesday, now they're saying Monday night. Getting a little monotonous.

Hi Jon,
I am about 3 hours South of you. I am hoping to work some dirt tomorow as well, as you say more rain for monday again. Good luck to you. Post some pics if you have a chance too please. Thank you.

got 25 acres of fertlizer spread . i only baptized the fertlizer plants new spreader twice ( stuck ) . wait a little longer

Called the fert coop on Friday just to say hi, hadn't talked to them in a long while.

Mentioned I do have a 25 acre field that they could spread, but that's too small for them to goof with, I was just checking how things might look for Sunday.

He said you have 25 acres fit, we have a rig near you, can be there as soon as we get it pulled out of the field it is stuck in.....

So I got that planted today.

Checked some other fields at sundown, boy they are sticky spots, just tough to call them in and then they get stuck, makes a mess. Might check again in the morning, see if the bigger field dried up a bit over nite.

The 25 acres they could spread and I planted today I had pattern tiled 2 years ago, that was one of my worst wettest fields. The power of tile!

Saw a few neighbors get going this afternoon. Think we are running over any wet spots and mush it any as we can. Not going to be a particularly good seedbed - ideal conditions type of year.

And yea, rain in the forcast Monday.....

Things are slowly getting going here, a lot of guys are leaving the headlands and coming back for them later. Rain for Monday so that'll slow us down again.
