New disc mower setup

Bought a side mounted rear disc mower. Of course the manual is not worth the paper it's written on. My question is does the cutter bar drag the ground or is suppose to ride just above? I know you can set cutting height my the top link on the tractor. Second question is at the end of the windrow do you lift the 3 point or the aux. hyd for the cylinder on mower? I cannot find anything online about setup and operation.

Cutter bar rides on the skids and I hardly ever raise my cutter bar until field is completed.

Drags On ground, lift depends on mower, some are aux, some 3pt.. Nh I now with is aux lift. I only lift mower for making hard left hand turn. You could mow entire field and never lift mower.

Like the others have said the cutter bar sets on the ground and the height of cut is adjusted with the top link and angle of the cutter bar. You can mow an entire field without raising it but I prefer to lift it up at turns, I raise my NH with the 3pt.
