OT-metal roof in Michigan

Greetings! I will be needing a new roof on the house soon, so I am trying to find a good metal roofer in south eastern Michigan. Have any ideas?

My house is 24 x 36 with a 13 x 11 porch; no valleys, just a 12-12 pitch roof, one chimney, and two vents. How much should a metal roof cost? (one layer of asphalt shingles on already).

Cost depends on who's opinion and what kind of steel you are planning on using. I just put a roof on a 30 x 40 with a 4/12 pitch. I did not remove old 1 layer asphalt roof, I put down 30# felt, not the thin 15#, and screwed down the metal, I have about $1800 in it, did all the labor myself. I have the same type of roof on my house, but I do not remember what it cost as that was a few years ago. Others have the opinion that the shingles must be removed etc.. I have several buildings in michigan, 2 of them being houses that are done this way and have had no problems in 10 years.

We have a roofing manufacturer within a stone's throw of our farm. Over the last 5 years his prices for painted 30 year tin has run from a tad under $2/ft. to the mid-$3/ft. depending on what he has to pay for the rolls of stock. A year ago when we rebuilt a portion of our barn the price was $2.07/ft.
