just kinda disappointed in my favorite seed companies 2015 offerings and pricing. Very very few conventional or just glyphosate tolerant hybrids, everything is traited, double, tripple stacks pros and smart stax. I rotate crops, dont need all that stuff. Then the prices have went down 0-1%. Even the conventional is $180/bag. Will have to check out more companies. Tried a high rated 95 day VT3Pro RIB, and it's way behind in maturity, and will yeild under the plain RR varieties, and even shorter maturities. They do have (1) tried and true for my farm still available in RR only, may order some of that as I know how it will yeild on my good ground and poor ground. Other than that, they lost most of my farm sales

I haven't found out yet. The place where I have been buying my seed corn, and selling my grain corn, is retracting. They might not even be a dealer for next year. For the first time in many years, a bunch of my corn went elsewhere.

I plant 95-97 day corn here, all to be shelled and dried. Last year highest list priced variety I bought was $340. Average cost was $274 paying in Dec.

It's too early to be thinking about that!

Take a look at this. Meritseed.com

Merit Seed offers many different types of hybrid seed corn to meet the various planting needs of growers. Conventional, Modified, Roundup Ready and Triple Stacked Corn are all proven producers.

Pioneer still has nongmo corn. Last year they had 3 varietys.Unfortunately the price is the same as GMO variety. Around $190-230 bag.

It seems most new varities are bred to be planted at high populations,Seed companies get to sell more seed.More profit for them.more expense for farmers. With high populations you are screwed in a drought.Back when I was planting corn I planted a Funks varity that would make two large ears, and the seed wasnt expensive.Sure the yields wernt what some get today but what about the bottom line profit? Whith corn price down to $3,how cheap you can produce it is more important than tremendous yields.Back in the 2011 drought some farmers never picked their corn, but with lower population they might have made some crop,at least they would have less expense. Are there any open pollenated varities which make decent yields?I understand that crazy rent some pay changes things.

Anderson seed in the Norseland/ St Peter area is where I get a lot of my seed, they are a very small regional breeder. They use big m traits if you want traits, they grow some conventional seed too.

In my soils, my wet climate, I've been real happy with their stuff.

They might not cover a wide area, they only breed for here local. But if you feel like trying something different, they don't have any programs or gimmicks, drive up in spring before planting, load up, write a check, the owners are the mechanics are the badgers are the graders and will be throwing th seed on your truck....tho the 3rd generation is starting to help a lot now.

I find their corn yields a tad more, but is a tad wetter, than my big name test bags. In my conditions, my soils, etc.....

There are others out there in the state too.

I've planted some Viking corn from Albert Lea Seeds, but haven't quite been impressed always. An option tho, nice place to do business, have some good beans and lots of fun and unusual seed.
