No trailer lights

Just bought a 2012 Dodge 3500 dually, with a 6.7 and auto. Hauled a tractor home from Cheyenne, about 320 miles. Had all the lights on the working great. Unhooked that trailer on Sunday morning, hooked on to my 26 foot stock trailer, and no marker lights. Wasn't going to be hauling in the dark, and really figured I had a bad connection on the trailer, so I hauled a couple loads of calves. Took the test light to it last night, and there is no power on the pickup at all, for lights. Have everything else.
Now where do I turn? I did get a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty, but the dealer is 130 miles away.

Not sure on the dodges, but on the Ford's there are 2 sets of fuses. one in the dash and another under the hood. Check the plug on your flatbed for loose worse that are crossing. That's the most common cause of blown fuses. Your truck lights and trailer lights are on separate fuses, sothetruck lights will work with a blown fuse for the trailer. At least that's how Ford's are.

Exactly. That F250 that I just bought did that. There was a fuse blown in the box under the hood. A fuse designated for the trailer tail lights and turn signals on this one. All of them under the dash were OK.

IIRC each function has its own fuse too, separate fuses for the trailer lights.

If you're blowing fuses, you probably do have a wiring fault on the trailer.

Trailer lighting is also controlled by a computer that you might need to have "flashed" by the dealer to make it work again.

Forgot about the reset, thanks for reminding me. On
my volvo semi when I blew the fuse it didn't work
til I shut the truck off and restarted it. That gave
me fits until I called volvo and got an explaination
from them. They also don't lable the fuses
individually, they list 5 fuses, all marked lights
so you have to guess which it is. Customer service
got an ear full on that one from me. Lol

Look under the hood in the area of the master cylinder for an in line fuse. I had that problem with my 1500 Dodge, took the dealer to find it.joe

Our Dodge 3500 has a power center under the hood in addition to the one located on the right side of the dash.

Blew several of the mega fuses ($7.00+ each) before finding a wire worn bare on the trailer.

Had the same problem on my '01 F150. Turned out to be trailer light fuse under the hood. Shorted wire on a rented trailer.

That's how the Chevy/Gms were, before 07, at least. Trailer and truck marker fuses under hood, left and right brake/signal for truck and trailer both in the dash.

You get to know where they are when someone wires a bale bed off the trailer plug instead of off the truck harness.

That truck's losing antifreeze again, maybe it'll get traded off so I don't have to rewire the bed and trailer plug with [more] relays.
