Farmall H Pictures

These two H tractors belonged to my Father in Law. Twelve years ago I was able to purchase one from his estate. I restored it and put a Woods belly mower under it and use it now yet. I also added a hydraulic cylinder to the lift lever which makes it easy and quick to raise the mower without it pulling me off the seat.
The other H tractor fell into the hands of one of the grandsons. Sad to say it's deteriorating.

Awful big shed for just two tractors and a lawn mower. First thing I'd do is...say fill it with more tractors.

That last H looks lonely be itself shoved in the corner.

Would like to suggest you clean the grass off that mower deck.. prevent it from rusting out and prevent it from catching fire, and remove home for rats and mice that will chew the wires off the tractor. Mainly to keep the rust down..

Your H with the mower looks really nice, have one similar. Paint & tires on yours look brand new. At least the other H is inside.

A friend of mine got divorced a number of years back and left the area. One of the things he left behind was a Farmall H. It was originally his uncle's (who had raised him). He offered the tractor to me, but his ex nixed that idea, saying that it should go to the kids. The last time I saw it, it looked similar to the neglected one in the corner in your pics. I told her to at least air up the rear tires, unless she wanted to spend $1000 on new ones. I doubt that ever happened. So sad!

I love my little H but I remember hearing someone talking about how they were "too big for small jobs and too small for big jobs" and it kinda rings true for the ol' gals, but I tell ya what my little H and my 1100 9' sickle mower make a pretty damn nice mowing team!

The "H" was just right for the smaller cotton farms. There must have been hundreds sold in the Texas blacklands in the early fifties. It was common to see 4 row cotton planters front mounted with the row packers on the back lift. Then the 2 row front cultivators went on after planting. Later it pulled a two row stripper, then a 2 row stalk cutter. They were low maintenance, needing only plugs and points maybe once a year, easy to work on, a great tractor overall for the day.
