Anyone know the difference between the late models in the LS and the LT body style and equipment?

Thanks

The LS is the basic as said and the LT is the next step up then comes the LTZ and the SS. The LS has small v6 and the LT and LTZ can have a 3.5 or 3.9 V6 and SS did have a 5.3 V8.

In general "LT" means "leather trim". LT models generally have heated leather seats and a few other whistles & bells. There are typically several trim levels within LT (e.g. 1LT, 2LT) with increasing option content.

Ah - no on the "leather trim" guess.

LS the base model and the LT has more options. No real cut off between the two as an LS can be optioned up to "almost" an LT. From 2006 to 2011 all the LSs had the 3.5 engine. From 2006 to 2010 some of the LTs had the 3.9, some had the 3.5 (LT2 or LT1). In 2011 all LTs had the 3.5.

In 2012 and 2013 all Impalas came with the 3.6 engine.

We had 3 2007 LTs with the 3.9 engine - very good engines that we ran up to 160k-170k - one had to have a transmission replaced. We now have a 2012 LT with the 3.6 engine - slower off the start - faster when passing at highway speeds than the 3.9.

If you know where to look you can pick up an Impala CHEAP for the year and miles. We paid about $18K for the 2007s that were slightly used. We bought our 2012 LT in 2013 with 10K for a little less than $15,000. At the same time frame a caparably optioned 4 cylinder Malibu or Ford Fusion was about $2k to $3K more.
