The generator was taken off and this alternator put on and everything has been working fine. However there are no lights!!
Here is the picture of the generator and the dangling red wire, I believe is the lights from the generator hookup. How do I get the lights to work??

that plug is not for the lights.sometimes the plug in for the lights will get loose or corroded it's in the long tube where the lights mount to,assuming the alternator is hooked up properly.blue wire(right)in pics should be lights white batt.(center) and the other field(left).

Delco 10SI alternator converted for one wire operation. I would replace the bolt used for the mount with a threaded rod using a pipe spacer and jamb nuts to assure no vibration. A vibrating mount is sure to be hard on any alternator. The lights should be wired to the light switch from the light bar (front and rear) the power for the switch should come from the starter solenoid, or switch. There may be a relay in the circuit, Depending on year. Cockshutt manuals will help straighten that out. Jim

Thanks for the replies folks. I checked the wiring and hooked up another power source and found that the lights and wiring are fine. It's the switch that is my problem.
Yes that mounting bolt looks rather precarious but there hasn't bee any vibration yet, but I shall replace it nonetheless.
