Strange YT night

A car sheared a pole last evening, and we had no electric or internet for quite a while. Tonight logged on to YT as usual, but it acted like I really haven't been here for 13 years. Did the local power outage erase me?

If your computer was in use when it happened your cookie file, which is what the computer and site use to remember who you are and what you have read may have been corrupted.

Look at the year, date and time displayed by the 'puter.

Likely, your little on-board wafer cell battery is dead and the computer reverted to the BIOS date when it got powered back up.

I agree with Bob. Check the year and date on your computer.
By the way, I had to login to reply. I think that sometimes when Windows updates it erases the remembered passwords.

Not enough information. Do you mean you had to log in? YT stores your identity as a web browser cookie on your computer. If your cookies were deleted, or you switched computers, or if you switch browsers (e.g. IE to Firefox), you'll need to log in again.

Your profile says you joined in 1999 and have 1873 posts, so YT didn't delete you.

Hey youngster. Be careful as one day you will be on the inside looking out too. Along those lines, I'm over 70 and look at my seniors knowing full well that's where I'm headed. Not an impressive sight.

I have to log in nearly every time I come on here.Sometimes twice in the same day!No idea why.Bit of a pain though.

Thanks, folks, I guess I've been here 15 years ; have been
corrupted, have become senile and old; have a profile but
can't find it; needed to log on but failed at that. These
computer buttons are small and anything smaller than a
grease-gun is out of my league. At my age, I'm fortunate to be
able to see the screen and bale and throw 13,000 square
bales a year. throw some of them more than once. Loaded a
woman's truck today and threw the bales each three times!
(Down out of the mow, onto her truck and jump down and
place them on the truck).
