The 1960 Falcon which this appears to be or real close, was one of the finest cars ever built. A buddy of mine bought one new with 3 on the tree, a heater and an 85 hp engine. Tight as a drum and regularly got 30 mpg. No whistles and bells.

Gotta remember that just because it was a Ford Falcon and not a Lincoln Continental, doesn't mean it wasn't a quality product. The Falcon was designed and built for it's market, not that of the latter. Meeting all it's design goals is the mark of a Quality product.....ISO 9001.

On how did it get up there? I'd guess that the tree grew around it since it had 55 years to complete the task.

Yup. '60 Falcon. I used to own one when I was first married. It also got 30 miles to the gallon; both in gas and oil.

QUESTION: HOW DID IT COME TO BE THERE?

1. Was abandoned over a growing tree?
2. The victim of a hurricane?
3. The victim of a flood?
4. The teachers car put there by students?
5. Photoshopped?

I suspect a bit of Photoshopping since the bottom part is blanked out....looks like a Sycamore tree, probably not more than 12 ft from the ground, but, a unique and funny photo.

I suspect someone put it there, because, as someone below said, its in Australia and in a eucalyptus tree- I don't think they grow fast enough to be that big in 50 years (more likely 30 years, as the car was obviously pretty well aged when it got there).

That looks photoshoped but lets assume its real.

A tree will not grow like that and push the car up. It may grow and incase the car in the tree like tree's do to fence or post but never push it up in the V.

You would need a crane to lift the car that high so I would not believe anyone put it there.

A hurricane would not do this. A tornado or rising water in a hurricane could but not the strait line winds of a hurricane.

A tornado would have bashed up the car some as it rammed it into the tree.

So that leaves flood. A flood could do this. Have seen it but not on this scale.
I would think a flood from a tsunami is a more likely cause considering the height.

Lots of people out there that don't understand Redneck art and sarcasum. Hey hold my beer while I put this Falcon back in its nest with my backhoe.

Under the rear left door it appears the base of a limb has been cut off flat to make a flat surface for the car to rest on. Was the cut made by chainsaw or photoshop? The way the left axle shaft is sticking out either someone has been doing some high altitude parts scavenging from the tree or the brake drum was off before it was lifted up there either by machine or photoshop. The trunk hood has what appears to be moss on it from being in the shade somewhere but the tree looks more like a dry weather or desert type and the desert doesn't grow a lot of moss. Just ramblings. My hunch is it's real but how did they get it up there and set down in the crotch of that tree without dinging it up?

Well I was thinking about that and thought that the main trunk was on the left and a limb was on the right.

But you are correct. Considering the size of a sapling under the car and distance to the ground, yes it had to be placed there by whatever means.
