Lowes refrigerators

We bought a new refrigerator from lowes about 6 months ago.It started acting up a couple months ago.Sometimes the temperature in the lower part would be be up to 55 degrees. It's supposed to be around 40.The temp knob is all the way to cold. The book says call the company for service.I called service and they asked me questions like," what room do you use your refrigerator in"?. " Would you take a two minuite survey on our service"? I said what service? Then they gave me a number for repair.I called the number and it was not in service anymore.I called back and got another number.I got the service department, but they were 100 miles away and said the service call was not under warranty, just the repair work. So,now I'm supposed to pay for a 200 mile service call. The last fridge we had lasted over 20 years.Does anyone make a good one anymore?

Thats why I deal with a local outfit when I buy appliances they are a little higher but give excellent service.Box stores are cheap but when you buy it its yours period

I would return it to the store. And if they will not exchange it, or refund the money it, would set in the back of my PU in their parking lot near the front door on Saturday and Sunday, with a nice sign stating the facts on it s age and the no repair/no satisfaction facts. The store manager might be very helpful if you stop and have a talk with him(or)her first. They have the right to override the corporation policy sometimes.

504 is right. Take it in with your receipt. I once purchased a riding mower that had a spring break within about 6 months of purchase, and no one could obtain the part for it. Since I purchased from China Mart, I called the store manager where I purchased, and he told me to bring it in and he would take a look. He said he could not refund my money, but would exchange for any mower left in stock. All were on clearance at the time, so I ended up getting a much heavier mower AND $100 cash back since the mower was cheaper than the original I purchased early in the season. Never hurts to ask, and all they can do is say no, and might even try another store if that one does not give you satisfaction or call his/her manager.

I tell you Ray, we bought a new fridge from Lowes about a year and a half ago. The old one was 30 years old and never a service call but the plastic on the inside was brittle and cracking and the door did not seal real well anymore. The new and really fancy one from Lowes had a defective panel in the door etc etc...but I had bought it on a good sale and loaded it up with the better warranty. Everything was fixed good as new at no charge and the story line was that if it did not stay that way, the whole unit would be replaced. These sales guys work on commission and, yes, they get credit for selling the warranties. But listen to what they are saying because they don't make money if you don't come back and buy something else.

That old one was a Kitchenaide, by the by. This new one is an LG. We did stand on our heads getting thru the red tape, but we got it fixed.

What brand was the refrigerator? We bought a Whirlpool at Lowes 5 years ago; no problems with it.

There might still be a GOOD refrigerator out there, but you will not find it at any of the big box stores. All of the appliances sold at those stores, no matter the name, are built at the same place, with the same components.

That sounds crazy. I purchased a whrilpool washer from lowes. Had an extended warranty. It went bad. Service call was paid for, two different tmes. Lowes extended warranty even gave us a full refund, because it was too expensive to repair washer. Lowes even delivered it and install it for free two different times. Removed the bad one too. Perhaps it has something to do with you are 100 miles from store. I am only 10 miles.

I'm 8 miles from the store. The only repair service for a haier brand refrigerator is in fort wayne ind. 100 miles away. $240 dollar service call warranty doesn't cover.I'm talking to lowes now, maybe work something out.

I have had terrible problems with products purchased at Lowes requiring warranty repairs. Call their 877 number, it should be on the appliance. I'm now on the second repair location and have been waiting seven weeks for a warranty repair. Fortunately it is not a critical item. The bottom line is with Lowes it is yours when you walk out the door with something.

It has a 12 month factory warranty, plus I paid 69 bucks for an added three year.

I would be calling Lowes extended warranty, something isn't right. They treated me real good. I'm very happy. Don't know what your problem is.

Lowes advantage 866 284 9158. That's the number I used when I had issues with my whirlpool washer. They gave me the number to call for local people on their list to come out and service my washer. It could be there are no approved service people in your neck of the woods. Which that sounds hard to believe.
