Got my 32nd free hat for being 100% on time for 1/4 of the year. Got all 32 for the 8 years I've been at Dart. Not much of a bonus program, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. 2 more years on time and I get a leather jacket.

Good job. I never could understand why the same people were always the ones that got to work 5 minutes late. I've told them the clock is always the same and all they had to do was change their schedule 10 minutes and they would be 5 minutes early.

When I was working a real job I had a 50 mile one way commute. I got the attendance award 4 years in a row. I worked a lot of OT and had to work a lot of days that everyone else got off. The company "rewarded" those of us with perfect attendance by catering a meal that was served at the office cafateria. It was always served on our day off so I never attended. It pi$$ed off the personnel manager so I made sure not to be on time one day a year.

I wish you delivered to me. I have had drivers be up to a week late sometimes, and I can tell when they are lying about it too. Just about all of the drivers who come in with containers are late every day!!!

One of our Safety incentives is free pizza delivered to the shop.Everybody eats for free, except the route drivers,we do not even get leftovers.(hard to drive 1100 miles a week and stay in the shop.)

Well, good on ya. When I was an employer (up to 40 guys at one point.) I ALWAYS paid in cash on Friday at 4 P.M. and bought the first round at the local beverage parlour. Not too many gripes - those that did, we shot at dawn !. ;^)

Jon, that's an enviable record! Not many even care nowadays. Like last week, My son in law ordered a used engine from somewhere out of state, and it was supposed to be delivered to his place of business. NOT! In order to have it for the weekend, he had to leave work early Friday and drive 75 miles to a terminal where it had been mis-delivered.

That's a far better deal than what I got after six years at the Dirty Harbors........pay cut, missed pays....finally pulled my truck last July.....it's sitting on the front lawn, because it can.

Thanks for all the great replies! It's not that big a deal tho since it only means that I've never been the cause for a late, we are not responsible for things like weather, breakdowns or delays at shippers or recievers. I frequently pick up and deliver loads late that were late when I am dispatched. We don't get a free ride on traffic tho unless an accident closes a road. And Loren, no problems on the visits as I only take them when I have time.
