Is this for Real?

. . . . and it's not even Gold plated. LOL!

A person would have to be in a really desperate need to pay that much for a wrench. For that kind of money, I'll make my own, as I have done on other occasions when I needed a specialty wrench or tool.

There are auctions for all sorts of things that bring far more $$$ than that wrench, paintings that are just scrambled paint, wine that tastes terrible, something signed by some old dead guy etc,etc make that wrench look like a real bargain.Value is in the eye of the beholder and price is set by the folks with the BIG $$$$ to spend.

I'm with FBH44 something looks a little off to me. Would have to do some research, but that is excellent lettering for 97 years ago....

Well after a little research it seems to be a legit wrench worth quite a bit. Most places I read value it at $15,000-$20,000. Could be a fake also as reproductions of high priced goods are always out there. It supposedly came with the Dain tractor and there is only 1 known surviving Dain in the museum in Waterloo, IA, but they claim there are several (20 or so) of these wrenches around. Not in the wrench game myself, but I guess you learn something everyday.

I guess if you have the money it's your business what you spend it on. And I thought my old Ford Wrenches were cool.

Just doesn't look right. Paint is worn off but wrench looks like new. Never been used. Most wrenches I have ever seen on a tractor. Were bent, rusty, dirty and worn out.

And if he put new green paint on it it would be worth $30,000, green paint is very expensive, that's why John Deere parts cost so much.
