I am in the process of purhcasing a 54 Jubilee basket case.

Retired in January after over 35 years as a machine repair tech.

I have always had an intrest in old tractors, and can't wait to start this adventure. I will need something to do in the cold winter months for a couple of years.
Does anyone know if a title and registration is need in northern IL. for tractors?

Thanks, Doyle Fountain

Welcome to the forum. I do not think registration or title are used in the US on farm tractors. (I could be wrong, but I have never encountered any. A bill of sale and serial numbers is usually all there is. A photo of the serial number on the tractor, and the tractor in the whole, is a good idea. You will like the tractor, they are easy to deal with and simple. Jim

welcome to the forums Trykerguy
i'm sure you'll enjoy this new hobby (or addiction for some of us call it) of tractor restoration
far as I know the Jubilee was only offered in 53 (but if I'm wrong it'll be pointed out by someone)
the model continued for many yrs after and was referred too as a Jubilee by many
there is a deadicated forum on here for ford tractors which you will find great answers to your
paticuar make
as to needing a title and registration is need in northern IL I'm not sure of your state laws
but as far as I know you don't
I don't know of any state that has them and as most provinces in Canada don't have that requirement
but some do
someone in your state will surely chime in

Thanks Jim, I am looking forward to having a lot of fun!!!

I might be asking a lot of questions that might seem dumb but, this is my first tractor bigger than my 12 HP Ariens. So bare with me please!!!

Welcome aboard. Ask about any question, someone here will have a answer. There are no dumb questions. I worked doing the same thing as you for around 40 years. Stan

(quoted from post at 11:38:39 09/17/15) I purchased a 1953 Jubilee from southern Il. All I got was a bill of sale.
Well, I guess my question has been answered, thanks for the help guys!!

Thanks, how do I navigate to the Ford Forum?

Welcome to the site. Once you get the hang of it its quite helpful

To get to other forums(IH, Deere, Ford, OT(almost anything goes).......) In modern view, right above the thread there is a link "Yesterday's Tractor Forum Index" that will take you there

In classic top left "Discussion Forums" will get you to the list of "headings"

From there(in either view) just scroll down and click the page you want.
