Thanks for all the input I don't have any land to actually try it on this field cultivator belongs to a friend that I help out I just thought maybe this spring he'd let me play a little with

"playing" is fine! My first tractor was a JD 730 diesel.I was 18. Like you,I had no ground.I'played' on a neighbors place with some of his equipment.I bought a few pieces (plow;baler;rake;disk; grain drill......)as they became available(and affordable).After a couple of years or so I was able to rent some ground.Eventially became a 'full time' farmer. Did some custom work too.So buy some equipment,if it doesnt work,sell it and buy something else.work hard,you will get there.

One trick to get more horsepower is run at night. It's a crude version of water injection but I could gain a gear sometimes on just the cool moist air
