How do you know "you're not getting anything to the coil" if you don't know where to start ??

Puzzling entry.

Presuming that there is still power to the starter switch, check the wire from the starter switch to the positive terminal on the ammeter.

Take a look at the photos below.

Using a test light, test for power at the positive terminal on the ammeter.

If there is power to the positive terminal on the ammeter, then test for power to the negative terminal on the ammeter.

If there is no power to the negative terminal, then replace the ammeter.

If there is power to the negative terminal on the ammeter, check the fuse in the wire to the battery terminal on the ignition switch.

Take a look at the photos below.

If the fuse is good, test for power at the battery terminal on the ignition switch.

If there is power to the battery terminal on the ignition switch, then turn the ignition switch [b:654c4848f0]ON[/b:654c4848f0].

Take another look at the photo below.

Note the blue wire on the ignition and accessory terminal that connects to the positive terminal on the coil.

Using a test light, test for power at the ignition and accessory terminal.

If there is power to the ignition and accessory terminal, then check the wire from the ignition and accessory terminal to the positive terminal on the coil.

Take a look at the photo below.

Using a test light, finally test for power at the positive terminal on the coil.

Hope this helps.
