Hotshots stiction diesel treatment?

Anybody ever try this stuff? My 6.0 ford is getting worse at starting in cold weather. Used to start easy down to zero with no problems not plugged in and not run for weeks. Now if it gets below 40 it starts but bangs and smokes and takes awhile to smooth out. If below about 30 it starts but does not run on all cylinders for about 10-20 seconds then smooths out. Approximately 90% of reviews say the stuff is awesome and should clear it up no problem. If anyone has used it do you know if you have to switch to synthetic oil? Not that I am against synthetic but I buy rotella 15-40 when its on sale and have stockpiled a ton so I hate to go buy something else for the truck because I have enough rotella to last along time. And don't tell me to just plug it in because I don't drive it much in the winter and it sits in an unheated building and when I need it I often don't know until it is time to go.

I have used this product, & I think it worked for my problem. I did add to fresh oil. as far as your problem, I would guess glo-plug or controller issue. have it scanned, and no, I don't think parts store can.

I tried hot shot it didn't do
anything. Used arch oil that helped
harder to find but it smoothed out my
6.0l. Also go to a thinner oil the 6.0
really likes a 10 40 oil. Motorcraft
make oil that weight for diesels.

There are many posts about the Rev-X additive on the internet, and most are a positive, I have seen it work too. I can't speak for the others, and you might do a little research too.

Might try a thinner oil for the cold climates, ford spec'd a 10w30 for these too. A lot of the cold climate users are running 5w40 synthetic.

I used it on my 6.0 alongside their fuel additive. The reviews were really positive and a lot of people on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts 6.oh forum all swear by it.

My problem ended up being more IPR related than stiction, but I do feel it runs better since adding it. It's been probably 10k miles since I added it.
