MH44 EFI Cranks Again

I got the MH44 to crank today, sounds real good with the new starter.

Oil pressure popped right up.

I have to put coolant back in, install fuses, get the power steering hoses and a tee for the fuel and it is ready to run.

I was wondering, there used to be some dialect confusion on YT, to some people crank meant to run! Looks good! What triggers the coils to fire and how does an advance work in that case?

Yes, cranks but not run.

The computer fires the fuel injection and coils, but I have those fuses pulled.

I do want to comment how smooth and quiet the gear reduction starter is that I got from Goldberg.

There is a crankshaft sensor that determines position and RPM.

It is my hobby, a couple years in the making and never done.

Beautiful...:)
Is there a THREADED proximity probe that senses the TEETH on the Ring Gear? What is the clearance between the end of the sensing device and the reference point? Did you set the clearance of the pickup with a VOLT meter or a feeler gauge? My experience is, the THREADED proximity probes, were 32 TPI.
Thanks
Bob...

I am amazed at DavidG's ability to adapt such new technology to such old technology--that 44 is a 1940's design!!

Great I have really enjoyed seeing your progress on this project. My Grandfather was a Massey dealer beginning in the late 40's. Those were strong old tractors.

I set the proximity with feeler gauge, .015 on closest, so that allows a little runout and still work.
