Shop radio post below got me thinking. Thought I'd post a picture of my shop radio(s) - twin TS-520's. Antennas are 20m and 40m dipoles and a 10m vertical.

Try again

I am like you. I have a ts 830 and a ts 260. Made a little 2 mtr dipole for the 260. 830 is hooked to a 300' loop

That's my main shack. I divided the shop building into the tractor work side and a smaller radio room that I heat in the winter. I enjoy finding old radios at garage sales and bringing them back to life. At the house I have a 2m rig set up for chatting on the local net. And HF and FM mobiles in the truck. You know how it goes, can't have just one.

I do have to blow the dust out of the 520's every so often, otherwise they are bullet proof.

No radios at the moment, I've been out of it for a while. If I can stop spending money on tractors/hay equipment, I might put some of it towards a nice NEW radio. I the past I used to always buy older stuff and fix it up.

I'm more into the equipment than talking. Despite all my wordy responses here, I've got very little to say on air. I'm just not big on small talk.

Might try morse code, but I'd have to re-learn it.

Kenwood is just good equipment, period. I really don't know why I took to Kenwoods early on, but I've never been disappointed. Not that Yaesu or Icom aren't good equipment, I have a couple Icoms as well, but when I'm really trying to get that last contact in a contest I want the Kenwood. A buddy of mine is all about Drakes. I guess that's what makes the radio hobby interesting, just like green and red tractors.

Following some health struggles my shack (in the house) has fallen into disrepair. My radios need a little work, my antennas need considerable work. I'm thinking some of the coax lead in need replaced. I would really love to get back on the air. I'm scheduled for some major back surgery next month. I'm hoping after the surgery, I will recover and be able to do the things I haven't been able to now for several years. Hope in don't sound like I'm whinning. Any how thank you for sharing pictures. PS its been a lot of years since my last visit to Dayton hamfest.

Hoping for the best with your surgery. Depending on your area you might put the word out for a little help, people are usually willing to chip in to help a fellow ham. Dayton is something I've never done, I'd like to but I'd probably drag home way too much stuff!

What frequency do you operate. I have a receiver i listen to and I will try to tune you in. I talk SSB and love my radios...And good friends I meet on the air waves. Thanks Bobby

I hang around 14.275 thru 14.300. There is a maritime net on 14.300 I like to listen too. N1YZ.com has a great summary of all the ham nets if you are looking for listening opportunities. Otherwise, email me sometime you're planning to be on air and we'll see if we can QSO My email is here or on QRZ - 73's - KD0WLO
