Anybody using farm innovators brand heaters ? I bought one stuck it in the freezer to check the thermostat like the book says pulled it out nope didn't work took it back got another one how could 2 of them be bad figured no way just stuck it in the tank yip that one was junk to . The old heater in the tank was working fine it quit because the element finally rotted away and finally quit . Found and old floating style heater farm innovators brand stuck it in the tank and it's working fine ten below here right now and water doesn't have a lick of ice . How many am I going to have to keep trading in to find a good one ?

I got one. This is the second year with it. Got a 500 watt model and use it on a 100 gallon tank. I've only plugged it in a couple of times this winter. It worked fine at -20 last winter and it worked as it should. I normally replace them every couple of years, just because. I will order another one probably the 250 watt model next time.

I guess didn't read the book, as I didn't stick it in the freezer. Matter of fact, the first time I used it I was in the hospital. My wife put it in the tank and plugged it in. I was nervous about it not being able to watch it at first but it worked fine.

I am running a 1500 watt and never had a frozen tank until I put the new one in . The floating one is doing a good job so I think I'll just get another one for a spare

I have one of those old time tank heaters. It's a metal box that has a 4" smoke stack on one end, and an above water level opening you use to put wood in. The fella I got it from bought it new and never used it. Then he gave it to me, and it's been sitting in the barn ever since. That's been about 25 years ago. Maybe I should list it on Craig's list. Someone might buy it.

Read the book it says stick in the freezer for an hour pull it out and plug it in to see if it gets hot that's how you check the thermostat

You mean you might be interested in the wood fired tank heater? If so I'm located in SW Wisconsin.
