Never thought I would be doing this on Valentines weekend

Forecasting -22 temp with down to -40 windchill for my area of east central MN. Just got done filling the outdoor wood boiler as full as I could get it with oak. Should last 10 hours or so now.
 
Casey's blends to -10 here, I got gelled up last winter at -15 when I did not treat enough, not going to let that happen again.

I like to use Fleet Farm arctic diesel when up north.
 
Looks like -2 here tonight. Cold enough for me! On the up side, maybe it will freeze the mud and I can get my truck back to the shed and put it away.
 
Wow...that is cold. Was in the 70s here in East Texas and predicting high 70s late next week. Fishing and golf on the calendar for next week. Guess that is why we have so many "Snow Birds" visiting here during the winter.
 
We have a high surf advisory high in the 70s. Glad it is not high surf and minus 40, not that we ever get that in Northern CA.
 
We keep our feed truck, the backhoe and one tractor 'treated' all winter. The feed truck and tractor are shedded and 'plugged in'. When it gets much below zero I try to store at least the bale truck in the shop, it's not kept heated, but we can heat it if necessary. I hate jelling up when I have cows to feed. I have marched my ol' bod out to the shop at 5 am many times and turned the heat on ! By next winter, we are going to have a second feed truck, I have a gas fueled Chevy that I'll mount a bale bed on. Not that that will solve all problems, but a 'back up' plan is needed !
