Any difference between the 2 weedkillers? I see that home depot sells 2,4-d for half the price of crossbow.

Don't know the differance between the two but do know that if you are buying at big box stores it is some what watered down so you can't get in as much trouble using it.I have found that if you want the good stuff you go to a farm chemical dealer.

Crossbow is used for control of woody plants. 2,3-d is for broadleaf weeds. in some states you need a chemical applicator license to buy and use 2.4-d and maybe Crossbow(?). The EPA is getting their teeth out for misuse.

As stated Crossbow is a brush killer and has Triclopyr as an additional ingredient to the 2,4D to make it more effective for brush control.

I use the Tordon Pellets for brush control. Will kill some trees also, have to be careful around the trees you want to keep.

24D is a rather mild broadleaf killer, it will affect most broadleaf plants from slightly to majorly, depending on how strong you mix. It burns down the green pretty fast, but doesn't hurt the root so very much, so several broadleaf plants will come back from it.

Crossbow is a mix of different chemicals that last a little longer, and work better on woody shrubby stuff. It also kills many broadleaf plants.

They are different.

Crossbow has I 48% of 2-4D in it I believe compared to a smaller amount in just plain 2-4D.

When I use to spray fields it was always said "Read The Label".
