bulk seed bag

I use the bulk seed bags for beans - the ones that are 3000 pounds (I think) and use pallet forks through the top straps. My auger wagon is tall so the 7800 can't lift the bags that high. Last year I borrowed a "Jungle Gym" thing that the bag sat on and I could put the pallet forks under it. The Midland dealer had made it and I told myself I would make one for this year for myself. I took careful measurements and seem to have lost them. I have several pictures but they don't give me a sense of scale (and the background is full of junk so I can't see everything). The holder was just the right size for those bags.

Does anyone know the dimensions of one of those bags when they are full? I am guessing five feet tall, three feet deep, and four feet wide. Theirs had bars on all four corners that held the loops up as the bag was emptying. I'm avoiding driving back over there as it is a jaunt. Surely one of you boys has something similar!

Contact a local seed dealer and you can measure it yourself for greater accuracy. Large volume dealers probably have a bunch of them on hand right now.

Got just what you need but a little pricey. It's called a model 840 loader with the forks on it will lift those bags from the top right up over a semi truck. Just what it has been used for.

We used to have a bag hanger like that at the seed and chemical business where I work but it got loaned out and never returned. Bulk bag sizes will vary greatly depending on the variety. I can get you a couple different measurements on bulk bags if it will help. I'm sure the varieties will be different depending on where you are. What we normally do if bulk bags go to a farm is send them an empty bulk box or two. Dump the bulk bags into the boxes and then pick the box up and dump into the seed tender. Yes you have to handle them twice but its one of the safest ways we have found. If you have ever had one of those straps break on a bulk bag while you are trying to dump it you will find something to get away from using them. Just my two cents.
