Big power LEDs

It has been brought up in a couple of posts about LED replacements on tractors in the past few weeks. I have been playing with them for two years on my Garden tractors and the trick is,,, they just keep on getting better. I went through several types. Well now I think that they may have done it right.
COB LEDs are what you want. these are the best I have seen for "light bulbs" There are a lot of them you can buy that look like little ears of corn and they do make a lot of light but, the COB "chip on board" type of LEDs are those ones that look like a big yellow panel of power! It is actually a multiple of led elements on one circuit board. Very low power use with lots of light output. The pictures show these newest ones for back up lights on a car and they also have a focused beam in the center. Number 1156 bulbs and they also make 1159 and much more including the new push in types. They are some where around 7.5 watts and that means they look like a 25+ watt bulb. They are screaming bright! Another thing is they are 6000K in the color that they put out. This is Daylight and not orange like tungsten bulbs. You can find them on Fleabay with a pair going around $10.oo per set or maybe just a little more.
The two pictures are with the camera locked in exposure so you can see how much power they have. Everything you see in the pictures is just a flip of the switch. I ordered more of them already and all of the Garden tractors are going to be changed over. The replacement for the standard 4 inch headlights are fantastic too. They just get warm and not hot to the touch. Totally new way to light up the night. If you need work lights on your trailer take a look at the ones that some NAPA stores have. They light up the store in broad daylight! They do cost some bucks but are a whole new way to go.

I saw LED 60 watt equivalent bulbs at Sam's Club the other day. Six bulbs for $18; they are just straight tubes, not shaped like an incandescent bulb like most other LED's. Wondering if they diffuse light or have more of a shotgun pattern?

We have LED's in our ceiling canister lights that are kind of a shotgun pattern but the light spreads out good from a 9ft. ceiling.

Yes as I said they are the new COB LEDs. Blind ya if you look into them. Look at the first picture and go buy a set for your lawn or garden tractor. You will be stunned with the brightness and the daylite color of these. I am very happy with them.
