Group 24 versus 26

All of my equipment except MH44 with gear reduction starter use the group 26 batteries, I had a group 24 on the MH, but would like to go to group 26 on everything.

What do you think?

The proper battery is the highest CCA unit that can be made to fit the battery box.

Not true, it's the highest cca needed.
When an oversized battery is used it can
actually shorten there life due to
plates sulfating due to not being drawn
down enough regularly

I will clarify, the group 26 is what fits in the other units, I would prefer to only buy one size battery if I can.

Do you think I will be OK on CCA?

Complete and total nonsense . Batteries last longer when the percent of discharge and number or discharges is reduced.
What is your experience and qualifications regarding batteries?

I dont know the answer, but...
Telecommunication lead acid batterys,,, last longer if... discharged to a set level, once a year and immediately be recharged.

And high frequency pulse chargers supposedly keep the sulphate down.

Lots of snake oil and black magic out there.

Our stationary Class One Batteries on the Nuclear Units have a longer life with fewer discharges .
If it wasn't for the annual load test to requalify the battery bank incase pending failure due to external connections internal connections , shorted or open plates . The batteries would only be floated and have an equalize charge every month.

I personally don't think it will be a problem.

From what I can find in a quick search, the MH44 came with a Group 1 6V battery from the factory, which typically has 575CCA these days. A better Group 26 also has 575CCA, but it also has 12V, so twice the power.
