tried several brands of bacon & i like Kunzler brand the best. Nothing like tasting bacon that taste like fat in some of the other brands.

Home grown prepared by a good locker beats anything store bought. Mine is gone from the York/hamp pigs I fed out , I need to find some more feeder pigs and stock up again.

Just got hogs ourselves, 4 York/hamp crosses. I cannot wait! I run an orchard so they will get a bit of apple drops in the fall and then the bacon is going to be smoked with our own apple wood from some old trees we took out. October cannot come fast enough!

Wrights thick sliced maple flavored. No such thing as bad bacon though. If your a big eater, go to Tony's in Birch Run MI and get a bacon and egg breakfast. They give you about a pound of bacon. My wife and I used to split one and not be able to finish it.

I buy wagon wheel brand ends and seconds from slave-a-lot. 10 lbs for about $24 like good old fashioned bacon, keeps forever.

I don't pay any attn. to what my wife buys but I remember the best bacon I ever had. We rented a cabin up east of Hayward Wi. 2 years in a row. After we got unloaded we found a little gas station/ grocery store/bait shop and got a few things, wife bought some thick bacon wrapped in white butcher type paper. Yesterdays events are kind of foggy but I remember bacon from 1983 or 4, maybe some therapy is in order.

We found someone that was raising some hogs and had them butchered at B&B Locker in Wynot NE. That is the best bacon that I've had in years. I now cannot stand the back. You get at a buffet.

I make enough every fall from the raccoons that invade the pear trees, after they get fat and happy. They make the best bacon. Takes a bunch of them but there are enough....James

Gotta say Smithfield's one of my favorites, but then, I work for them and help to produce the end product!! I second the "fried" answer too!!

Only bacon I'll buy. Try it and post back. geo

I'm thinking about one of those Traeger smoker pellet BBQ's or something similar. Then experimenting with curing and smoking pork belly.
Daughter is getting her own house so if we give her the old LP BBQ I suppose we will have to replace our's with something?

The best bacon I get is from Yoder's Amish store in Centreville Michigan. Take a pound. Spread it on a cooking pan and bake it for 25 minutes at 350 while you make coffee and eggs. just yummie.

Yes we did and it's good too. I will break out in hives from the preservative in some sausage so I don't have much of a taste for sausage lol. Theirs doesn't affect me but I'm still not a huge sausage fan. They butchered a beef for me too and am very pleased with it too.

I do know this much, if it smells like an old boar hog when you cook it, I throw it out. I have only ran into this twice. Yuk. I'll also bet most city folks have no idea.

Foodlion hickory smoked 3 lb pack they stand the bacon up in the package you can see both sides and tell if its a lean pack :)

My second pick would be Neese's it expensive tho like all there products.. :(

Nasers. As far as I know, there are only two stores; Apollo and Unity Twp. PA. They are a grocery store known for their meats, The bacon is thick cut, flavorful with little grease. Hey, I think I'll head to the fridge!

don't buy bacon, raise my own hogs on the farm and chickens and beef, all grain feed, no grass fed no free range no organtic

Rank old boar meat makes good summer sausage, hardly needs spice or smoke to smell high.
