Bobcat Bucket

I've got to go look at a Bobcat loader bucket this evening.

He wants the ripper teeth replaced.

Some are missing, the others are worn out.

Haven't seen this in person yet, just a picture. The remaining teeth are bolted on with what looks like 3/8" bolts and nuts. This doesn't look right.

Should they be riveted? Welded?

Any idea where to buy them? I assume Bobcat will have them at a price!

I needed teeth for a Kubota backhoe bucket. My local Bobcat dealer had some that worked for a lot less money than I could even find some on ebay for. I'd check with bobcat for sure !

Steve: The factory teeth are a two piece unit. The bracket bolts to the bucket with bolts that are about 3/8 and then the tooth is held on to the bracket with a pin driven in from the top. IF you replace them when they are not clear worn out you just drive out the pin and install another tooth on the bracket with a new pin. Well most guys do not replace them then and wear the entire bracket and all out. The bracket , tooth and mounting hardware are about $30 a set at Bobcat. Here is a picture of a set on EBay 7 for $144 plus freight.

Thanks, I went and looked at it.

This is a Melroe Co. bucket. Think maybe the teeth were added. The mounts are welded on, and are in good condition. The teeth slip over the mounts, and are held on with a horizontal split pin with a rubber strip in the middle that acts as a spring.

They look like these: http://toothbar.net/picture-and-videos/

I'm hoping the Bobcat dealer will have them. Going by there in the morning, see what they have!

Thanks
