My FIL asked me tonite about replacing a Taillight bulb in his 2006 Caravan. I looked at it and thought maybe the tailgate opening bottom plate (plastic) might be pulled and then the gasket material and then the inside liner panel ahead of the tailgate opening. However I don't know if the bottom panel is just held in place with pop in fasteners or there is something else to remove. I hate to break something just because I don't know the correct way to take something apart. Thanks in advance, Roy

Have owned 3 Chrysler product vans. Open tailgate. Remove 2 phillips head screws from side of lens cover. May have rubber gasker rolled over them. Just hold it out of your way while removing screws. Gently tip lens cover outward and then pull toward rear of vehicle. Wires will still be attached. Turn each bulb socket about 1/4 turn and pull from lens cover. Should be 3 to remove. Hope this is helpful

My 07 had three little plastic pins that popped out with a screw driver and the whole assembly come off. It took less than 5 minutes to change a bulb. Google it as it is real simple to do.

On my '05 the plastic pins doubleR is talking about have heads that are about 3/4" dia. and about a 1/4" thick. At first glance they look like side pressure bumper guides for the tailgate but they are in fact the tail light retainer pins.

I just replaced the tail light in our van a month ago. With the back door up, take a pliers and pull the 2 black knobs out. They are a 2 piece fastener. Once they are out the lens will tip out and you can replace the bulbs. The 2 bulbs have the same number. I had to replace my lens because the seal between front and back had come loose and moisture and dirt had got in. It was hard to see the lights blinking. I managed to get them separated without breaking either so now I am going to glue them back together and then I will have a spare. I will probably never use the spare so the kids can say "wonder why dad saved this lens because he doesn't have a vehicle it fits."

I've had to replace both taillight assemblies on our Caravan in order to keep all bulbs working. The plastic looked deformed/melted around sockets.
