This is painful

But it seems to be getting easier.

Several days ago, my desktop computer bit the dust. It still works, sort of, but it's unpredictable and I don't trust it. I did manage to save everything important to a couple of flash drives.

So--I bought a new 'puter, Windows 10, natch 'cause that's all you can get anymore. After spending years on Windows 7 and XP, I was kinda in the dark on 10. But, after a trip back to Lincoln to Barnes & Noble for a good manual, it's starting to makes sense.

Funny part was, I was at Best Buy Wednesday and settled on this model of HP and was ready to buy it. Couldn't find a salesman anywhere, so I walked out. Checked Amazon yesterday and found that exact model went on sale yesterday morning for $70 off. So I went back yesterday evening and bought it. Guess it pays to be cranky sometimes.

You know if you really want to.....you can have an older system put on your computer. They can put 7 on for you at any compitent repair center. Near me is a place and he does a couple a day sometimes. NOW if your new lap top has a touch screen then you better get used to the 10 system. It will work better for you after a little trial period.

You ever wonder where the folks go sometimes. You walk into a store pretty much knowing what you want and theres folks everywhere. But he minute you need to ask a question theres not a sole nowhere.

how do you get used to 10? my new laptop is 3 months old and I hate it.im patient but its trying my nerves.had I nown 10 was this bad id not bought it

I went to Office Depot and Staples before Best Buy and had the same experience. Couldn't find anyone to talk to. At Office Depot a salesman actually walked right past me and started to fiddle with something else. Short of yelling half way across the store, I couldn't get his attention. But, this was in contrast to the last time I was in the place when two dorks seemed to be competing to try to sell me the whole store.

I sometimes wonder if these sales people don't see my gray hair and think I'm just some old geezer who will ask a bunch of dumb questions. I don't claim to be a "whiz", but on the other hand every employment situation I've been in since 1990 has required me to use a computer so I'm not exactly a newbie, either.

FYI
They have free programs that make windows 8 or 10 look like any system your used too. XP,7 etc.

Called Classic Shell

I use it on all my windows 8 machines.
Love it.
