We have consistently getting significant rain ever 4-5 days since first of July here in Eastern Iowa, another 4.5 last night.

We have been getting just enough to keep everything looking good. Sounds like we have a lot on way this weekend,up to 4" tomorrow.

We got 6.5 inches Wednesday night and Thursday morning. It has been a very wet summer here in central Mn. Our neighbor puts their horses in our pasture but they are having a little trouble getting down to the grass. Ha Ha.

We got some rain here in northwest Iowa but it varies quite a bit. Some land I farm two miles west of home got 2.25". the gauge here at home had 2.85". A mile east of here I had 3.00". The Albert City threshing show which is three miles east of my east rain gauge had 4.5". Five miles east of there had 6". The threshing show is a little muddy in the exhibit area but not bad. Field activities are stopped for today. Sun is supposed to come out this afternoon so Tomorrow should be pretty good at the show grounds and Sunday will be great. Parking is OK.

I noticed that almost the entire state of Iowa was getting pounded last night..We are just barely getting enough rain in southwest MO...The biggest rain this year has been 1 and 3/4th inches..

Here in the Ozark mountains we have either red clay or black clay with very little good top soil so yep dries out fast and gets wet fast so does not take much either way to go form a drought to a flood

I have been trying to hay (grass) for over a month, not getting very far. Raining a little, not a lot, but something like 2" last night. Lots of foggy mornings, overcast, cloudy, hay not drying, sitting over extra days, things like that. I'm not working at it today, some water puddles will be soaked in by tomorrow, lots of slough/mud to mow around, almost got stuck out there yesterday before this.

Not complaining though, a number of years of severe drought the last couple of decades. I prefer this to buying 100s of tons of $225/ton hay, barely being able to find any, buying old hay, etc. Might have some extra this year again. Last year was the first year in probably 20 that I didn't have to buy any, this year should be more.

I went to the Steam Show in Canandaigua today saw tasseled corn with ears 4 to 5 ft tall. Its been very dry out there all summer. Here in Central NY the rains have come just when needed. Cut the hay, it rains and grows right back for another cutting. Corn is looking real good.

David we only got 2.5 here. Dubuque only had around 1 1/2. The rain last night was one of the few gentle rains we have had all year.

Right here along Lake Michigan we finally got rain last night about 10 pm, by now about a half an inch has gently fallen. This is the first measurable rain since 7/30.

Somehow, July shows 3.14 inches total, I sure don't remember that much. The grass was as dry and brown as I have seen for several years... the average high temperature was around 85, with 70% humidity
