Oliver 1365 at the sale

JD Seller

The Oliver 1365 at the sale had a locked up engine. It brought $350 IRC. I lost interest as soon as they stated it was locked up.

Would not mind finding one that was in running order. Just like something different at times. LOL

JD, you ever do any business with Miller Valley equipment? I am looking at a vertical mixer. How did the livestock related equipment sell at Strawberry Point?

I know Eric and Ronnie Miller. They are good people.

The livestock stuff at the sale sold even to down. All depending on what it was. It really is the wrong time of the year to sell things. Money is tight until harvest.

Too bad on the 1365 they are a really good utility tractor if in decent shape. for $350 it was probably still a good deal, depending on the condition of the rest of the tractor.

We have been buying a good bit of stuff in Iowa this year, mostly feed carts, grinder mixers and hay/forage equipment, there have been some real deals on a lot of that stuff. On the other hand hog equipment, TMR mixers and wagons have been too high for me to buy and turn over.

Dad had a similar made by Fiat Allis 5040 brand new. Was not impressed at all with it ! But then again I grew up on my uncles JD 2630 and JD 300TLB once you run the JD utilities nothing else compares.

1365 is a big step up from the 5040,1365 has the high/low and 4 speed transmission 3rd and 4th are syconized.1365 has 55 HP as opposed to the 5040 40 HP I'll put it up against
any JD close to its size and age.Plus the parts are a WHOLE LOT cheaper to buy than the JD.

Are the parts as readily available as they will be from Deer or will you spend hours if not days trying to find a used source?

Bought one like that and did fix it all properly. Pocket book is a lot lighter, but I love it and it runs and works like new. Could not by a new one for what I have in it and it is basically new.

I'd say you could just about build a new one with the parts available.I think a new short block is around $1500-1800(don't quote me on that). and yes they are much better than allis and allis was not even built by fiat if IIRC so apples and oranges there. I have had mine about 19yrs. and put 2 lift pumps some tie rods and water pump, not too bad for 3,800ish hrs.

I called the new Agco dealer here for a throw out bearing for mine. There was a choice of two. I had a cross reference number from the Timken chart and gave that to the parts guy. He said it didn't come up as a good number, but he said he'd call Agco Tech Support and call me back. He called back and said yes,it was the right number, all we had to do was add an H to the front of it,it's on it's way.

I can give you a 100% certified guarantee that if that had been the case at one of the Deeremarts here they would have just said something to the effect that it's not a good number,I don't know what you're gonna do. Been there/done that too many times with those people.

Just happened to see one on a lot in Avon, IL. last weekend.
Was there the last couple of years too - Neff Equipment, I think.
