Harvestore bin jacks

Anyone know where a set of jacks are setting that a guy could buy, or rent to move a small harvestore silo? I am not looking to hire anyone, just looking to see if it is possible to to myself.

You"ll need internal bracing to lay them down. I"ve known of a couple renegade movers that serviced and mooved (intended misspelling) them. That was central MN.

They are a set of hydraulic jacks all coupled to one hydraulic source. That way they lift evenly. I know of no one that would loan them out. I looked onto buying a set used 10 years ago. The cheapest ones I could find where over $10K then. They will easily work for setting up large grain bins so there is a demand for them.

If you take a Harvest silo apart you will need a new seal kit for the seams. Usually all new bolts too. The factory ones have plastic covered heads and nuts.

You certainly will not transport a 20' diameter cylinder very far!! Transport height on a specialized tank trailer would be 21' and also 20' wide.

Bin jacks would work, as I would think these 37 ring by 135' would weigh more than a small blue boy. If it only a 2 ring, take the bottom ring off and truck the top as is on a trailer. Check with a grain bin guy. I have 3 government bins moved with a home made trailer and a tractor. Fertilizer tanks, 30,000 gallon ones are moved by hydraulic trailers but the diameter is smaller.

If you laid it down and transported it, I doubt it would be air tight when you put it back up. Yes, you will need a structure rebuild kit with new bolts and sealer.

Hauling : you need a set of curved supports so the glass lining does not crack or you just lost the air tight on the sheets. I have also heard they have a quick release dope you put on the seals to get them apart. Somebody was telling me they tried to get them apart without that and about ruined a sheet trying. Just hearsay and no further knowledge. I do know the sheets are about a quarter if an inch thick.
