Got a 1964 international loadstar 1600. Where would I look to see what engine it has. It's a v8 with a 2barrel carb and a 4 speed transmission. Thanks.

345 was common or a 392

1600 2 bbl. if original would be 304 or 345.With 4 speed,probably 304.

Release the clips on each side of the glove box, when it turns down there should be a line set sheet taped to the back of the glove box, it will tell you all about the truck.

There is a small rectangle pad above the oil pan on the passenger front corner of the engine block. Scrape off the grease and it should have a number there that starts SV###. The number is the displacement. 266, 304, or 345. Only be a 392 if it was swapped in at some point, don't think the 392 was available in '64.

While you are searching for the tag make note of the brand of distributor and carb it has. Seems they bought what ever they could get.

Take your serial # to a navastar dealer they can print a line setting page and you will have all the spec,

my '63 Loadstar has the 304 with a 2 bbl, and 4+2 transmission/rear end.
