I'm looking for a new hose to put on my bulk fuel tank. What I've been using lasts between 1-4 years. It goes to pieces at the pump, dry rot and cracking until it leaks. I chop it off until more rots. I'd really like one to last longer like 10-20. Anyone have a favorite brand or supplier? I'm even thinking about a hydraulic hose.

Wow. I'm on the second hose in my lifetime on both the gas and diesel tanks. Got 2 portable 50 gallon tanks also, one I replaced a hose, other is what came with it, had them over 10 years.

What are you using for fuel hose?

I get whatever Runnings Fleet and Farm stocks, nothing special.

Probably jinxed myself now.....

Me, too. They usually end up getting so hard I get tired of fighting them but I've never had one come apart or anything and all of my barrels are in direct sun. Mine have screw in ends and I don't splice. I have an elbow after each filter so it hangs straight down and the nozzle points up with a cap on each one (a piece of pipe nipple with a cap) so the hose isn't kinked. I guarantee that both diesel and unleaded sit in the hoses 24/7.

I can remember replacing them a couple of times in all of these years. I get them at Orscheln. The length is more important than brand to me.

My hoses seem to last a good long time but I can't put an exact time span to it. They came from the local farm store.

I spent 14 years hauling fuel, post a picture of your tank where the hose attaches to the pump. You gotta have something out of kilter. I replaced a few hoses in those years, mostly because guys drove off with them still in the tank.
