Ford F250 coolant?

OT but I do use the truck on our little farm. It's a '05 250 w/ 5.8L gas. I bought used & no
manual. My coolant level is low and I'm not sure which type antifreeze it takes? If anybody who has
one or knows can help me out, I thank you in advance. Jeff

Ricey06 Your local parts store should have anti freeze that mixes with any color anti freeze. Richard

napa or any store with knowledgeable staff will know what to sell you. presume you need the aluminium compatible stuff.

Ford recommends the Motorcraft Gold antifreeze, 50/50 with distilled water.

At that age, and not knowing what is in it or what condition it is in, I would drain, flush and start over.

Nothing special. Use the universal stuff that mixes with anything. Although, since I'm spending your money, I'd drain and flush the snot out of it and refill with your favorite.

Your truck should take G-05 coolant, available at NAPA and a few other auto part stores.
The "all makes, all models" stuff is technically Dex-Cool (the stuff recommended by GM and very late model Fords) and really shouldn't be mixed with it, although your engine won't blow up and your radiator probably won't sludge up if you pour in some of the stuff and mix it with whatever you have in there now. BTW, if you don't exactly know what's in it now, drain it, flush it, and then add your new coolant. There are model coolants that should NOT be mixed with the old, traditional green anti-freeze, if by any chance that's what you have in there now.
