Loose loader controls on MF 236 (pics)

I have an MF 236 loader on an MF 250 tractor that I recently obtained, the control levers are very loose from wear, quite unhandy for precise function control. Is there a rebuild kit available for them? the valve works great, the problem is a lot of play on the aluminum levers themselves. They are Cross brand. I would consider converting to joystick also, if its not too costly.

I would google a hydraulics repair shop in your area as those pieces are available as repair parts. Years ago they used to be sold as a kit at places such as TSC and maybe a TSC store could order them. Hopefully, the spool where the pin and lever intersect is not worn but worst case the spool should be available as well. If you know a machinist then it might be possible to bore out (within reason) the lever and holder and insert bushings. Generally, there is not a lot of "meat" there to do that but you might get lucky.

The spool should be of comparatively harder metal therefore less prone to wear versus the pins, bracket, and aluminum lever but you will know more when you disassemble.

the pins on my ford 1310 tractor were sloppy too---so i drilled them out and installed gr8 bolts of the next larger size--worked out very well

Kit from TISCO don,t have the number here but if you do not find it let me know int the morning.

I just bought two of those levers on (ebay), they are about $25 each. They have a different part number than the originals. The holes in the levers is what were worn. Pins and all else were fine. This was on my cousin's 250 with a 232 loader. 3,200 hours total time in service. Handle part number 1V1703. Griggslawnandtractor was where I ordered. They are now aluminium instead of heavier 'pot metal'

Those are generic levers, tsc or a place like fleet farm all the levers, and the other aluminum parts around the spool that the levers attach to. Had a cross valve on a loader on the farm, and once in a great while a lever would break. New lever from fleet farm was less than $20 if I remember right. Not worth the time it'd take to have a machinist put bushings in the holes.

Thanks for responses- very helpful.

GarryinNC, has your cousin's 250 been a good tractor? Its virtually a new version of the 135, correct? I have older gen MF (1135, 275) but don't know much about these English models, what happened here is I wanted a 236 loader for my 275, and found this 250 with a 236 on it, so I think I'll just keep it like that- seems to be a decent tractor all around.
