That is absolutely the wrong grille for an "L" John Deere. looks like an automotive grille that has been jury rigged there.

It's missing a lot. Is missing the grill, chin, drive shaft cover, wrong exhaust, and a bunch of extra holes in the sheetmetal. I would say maybe $500.

Hard to tell from picture. But there is a good chance it may have a different engine installed from a combine ? If rims are good and steering box is good there is most of the value there.

Wrong grill missing the chin too. Looks like top shift tranny which is a negative. Looks like needs lots of work so I would go into it cheap. I believe the value has gone down on them a lot. They also need there own implements to be of any great use (which can be bought but are getting scarce) The early ones had a Hercules engine later ones a JD, yes an luc combine engine can be used. I have an LA with many implements. They are a fun tractor.

I remember when I was a kid,Hugh Roberts had three of those lined up in front of the building at Carson Farm Service. I tried my darndest to get dad to buy one for me. He had $325 each on two of them,one was super nice and he wanted $375. I couldn't get him to go for it. He eventually bought an Allis Chalmers C from the elementary school janitor for $150.

Weren't those supposed to have wavy flange rims on the rear? To me, non-running, $500-700 depending on what else is missing.

It's on Craigslist Birmingham AL. He's asking 1100. I thought he was high. But after reading all this I ain't gonna waste time going by there my wife thanks y'all lol.
