Video Taking Down The Tree

Enjoyed your video . It was really something to see home you could drive that tractor most any where you needed to go , with out leaving a mark on the ground or getting stuck . I would be chewing things up pretty good if I tried anything like that here in Ontario. Will you be on the land next week ?

After a couple near misses during super storm Sandy I cut a bunch of trees by the house, many leaning toward the house. Used my excavator to apply tension.

(quoted from post at 06:29:44 04/09/17) Your saw is running too rich.
How do you know that Teddy? It starts and runs great every time I need it to. Never touched the carb adjustments since it was new several years ago.

I was fully expecting to spin out when I hit the stubble field but it was firm enough to get by. I did spin out on frozen ground when I crossed into some longer grass. Its an early spring for us and I need to think about combining the flax I could not do last fall.
Gtractorfan, I was using the chest mount harness for the Gopro camera which is a big improvement allowing me to work with both hands while the camera runs.

After getting the tree away from the well and house, it would have pulled easier from the stump end than the top.
You can pull a tree slightly when cutting by cutting the side oposite of the way you want it to fall.

(quoted from post at 10:41:03 04/09/17) is that your campfire wood for next year?
I have not decided yet what I will do. For now it can rest on the ground and dry out. I'll likely branch it and see if my brother wants it for firewood. Maybe I could even sell it?
Caerpillerguy, I know the tree would have pulled better from the base but since I was already hitched higher up and it was moving along fine I decided to just keep rolling until I couldn't . The old Massey got the job done.

(quoted from post at 20:15:06 04/09/17) Maybe the air filter needs cleaning. It doesn't sound right when cutting.
I have to admit I have never looked at the air filter since I bought the saw several years ago. But it does not see a lot of use. I'll check it out.
