NH 68Baler problem

Last Fall we were baling some grass hay. Once in while in a heavier spot in the windrow on the right knotter the twine would be cut approximatley 14" from the knot. I was thinking maybe one of triangle pieces on face of the plunger was cutting the twine but don't see any thing out of place. The 14" tail was on the backside of the bale. Some times it would miss 2 or 3 bales in a row. Anybody have an answer? I'm supposed to be the go to NH sq. baler man around here and this is real humbling. HELP!! Gene

I would check the tucker finger rods. I have had the tucker finger miss or not push the twine correctly when it is under heavier tension but would work fine the rest of the time. The twine gets wrapped around the tucker finger and gets cut/broke as the bale move back the chamber.

Are you using sisal or poly? I've had sisal break at weak spots, looked a lot like it was cut. Just a thought.

If it's not that, I'd look over the bale chamber carefully for a sharp piece of metal.
