Sheet metal thickness

What gauge of sheet metal would you
recommend for the sides of a manure
spreader? Thanks

Just went out and measured the thickness of the floor and sides on my Oliver 11-A (all sheet metal manure spreader)....
Came up with it being .060. Thick

It's in very good shape, it's used very often in winter once ground freezes but just sits most of the rest of the year. I think the key to its sucess in lasting as long as it has is that it has always been maintained, by that I mean all metal is well coated with paint or oiled if bare metal.

14 ga is what you need slightly over 3 pounds per square foot and easy to weld

10 or 12ga is my guess.
